“We have not just Obamacare unraveling, not just the Obama administration unraveling, not just the Democratic majority in the Senate, but we could be looking at the collapse of American liberalism. Obamacare is the big thing for them, the biggest in 100 years. And this is a moment when we have to be calm. We have to understand what holds us together on the right. We have to watch and explain why the failure of the left is happening. And if we do that, we will win.”
We will win if we don’t try big-goverment conservatism again and give the voters a choice.
The electorate is used to choices and personal freedom: They’re used to buying stuff on Amazom.com when they want to, listening to music on iTunes when they want to, and buying and eating food when they want to.
The whole point of the big government is that the individual people cannot and will not make good choices, as Al Gore himself once said about climate change.
“From the standpoint of governance, what is at stake is our ability to use the rule of law as an instrument of human redemption.” (emphasis mine)
Thanks for the offer, Al, but my plan for redemption involves God, not big government. One ends when I die, the other doesn’t.
