Join the Arizona chapter of Americans for Prosperity (AFP), allied pro-taxpayer organizations, and hundreds of taxpayer activists for an Arizona Taxpayer Tea Party, this Friday, February 27, at noon at the Tempe Beach Park to protest (and stop!) the tax increases proposed by big-spending politicians at the federal, state, and local levels. Wally the (Empty) Taxpayer Wallet will also be in attendance…
Our initial meetup will be at 11:45 a.m. at the Tempe Beach Park, west of the Mill Avenue Bridge. A parking lot is available next to the park, on Rio Salado Parkway.
Please let us know you will attend by sending an email to infoAZ@afphq.org .
Of course, I can’t attend due to work obligations. These taxes aren’t going to pay themselves.
UPDATE: Huh. The Arizona version doesn’t seem to be coordinated with the massive national Tea Party movement. They better do that quickly since the word definitely has not gotten out on Facebook, Twitter or the other social networks. Also, I had to really hunt to find the original AFP link used above. People won’t show up if the word doesn’t get out.
UPDATE #2: To help the cause, I’ve put out the word on Twitter and emailed KFYI. Hopefully someone will run this ball down the field.
UPDATE #3: Utterly confused. In the comments, the inimitable Vox has heard of a dueling Arizona Tea Party at the State Capitol
Facebook is listing the Tea Party as 10-11 at the state capital: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=53845234586
I am finding this event very frustrating, and indicative of the problems in our party. I have been hearing about this for only a few days, info has been scarce and conflicting….
It would be great if we could get a bit more organized & perhaps give folks enough of a heads up to make/change plans.
If organizers can’t even agree on a time and date, this could be a bust locally. And who is in charge of creating the large papier-mâché puppet heads? Granted, my “Joe Biden The NeoLib Chickenhawk” design is progressing nicely, but I could use some help attaching the hair plugs.
