They stand on guard for us

A Taliban commander critiques NATO forces in Afghanistan

Commander Mullah Haji Mohammad: To be honest with you, most of the invading soldiers are cowards, if they did not have their helicopters and air planes to support them, they would not be able to stay in Afghanistan for more than a month, on the other hand you do have few brave invading soldiers, from all the invading countries the Canadian soldiers are the most bravest (emphasis mine).

Thanks for confirming what we already knew, sport. Now make your peace with your god, because the PPCLI is getting ready to send you to him.

Can we count on you, Senator McCain?

Can we count on you to do the right thing by your constituents and your country and sign The Club For Growth’s pledge to repeal Obamacare, just like your opponent in your primary race has

Can we count on you this time to make a stand against wasteful government spending, as you’ve done in the past, or will you go along with yet another big government plan and put my children on the hook for trillions of dollars of government debt?

Can we count on you, Senator McCain, to do the right thing when it counts? Because if we can’t, you can count us to make sure you’ll be leaving the Senate sooner than you planned.

College for Clunkers.

404:

The government’s Web site for handling student loans was broken most of Tuesday — the very day President Obama signed a law putting the government in charge of all subsidized student lending.

Visitors to the site www.studentloans.gov early Tuesday afternoon saw an error message, while users Monday saw either an error message or, in the evening, were simply unable to connect to the site at all.

The site was working again by late Tuesday, but critics said the technical problems underscore their concerns about turning such a major program over to the federal government.

“This is a case study in what happens when the federal government takes over a function of the private sector. On its first day of operation, the federal student loan program has collapsed into a black hole from which no information can escape,” said John Hart, a spokesman for Sen. Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Republican.

The student loan Web site is like most Obama initiatives. It’s big, expensive and doesn’t work.

The men of America can feel safe knowing that more women are carrying guns

Tam, Breda, Voxyou’re in good company.

American women are buying guns and taking aim on firing ranges in growing numbers, according to a recent study and interviews with gun-shop owners.

A 2009 study found 70 percent of shop owners reported more female buyers.

The study, conducted by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and Southwick Associates, also found 80 percent of the female gun-buyers who responded said they purchased a gun for self-defense, followed by 35 percent for target practice and 24 percent for hunting.

Go get ’em gals.

Go get ’em, Greg

Greg Patterson is shining the light of the FOI Act on The State Compensation Fund and it’s cozy relationship with the Arizona Democratic Party. SCF says it’s not subject to Arizona’s open records statues, but in reality, they are, and they’re not liking it one little bit.

Sunrise is coming for the SCF, and they better get ready for it.

Happy Passover

I forget the origination of the quote, but I love it:

“Most Jewish holidays can be quickly described as ‘They tried to kill us, they failed, let’s eat.'”

May they always fail, and may we always eat.

And if you’re a Christian and not gone to a Seder, I highly recommend it. You don’t know where you’re going unless you know where you’ve been, and participating in a Seder sheds new light on Christ’s sacrificial redemption.

The violence that’s inherit in the system

Another day, another Jewish political leader mistreated

Today, a two-count complaint and warrant was filed charging Norman Leboon with threatening to kill United States Congressman Eric Cantor and his family. Leboon created and then transmitted a YouTube video to Google over the internet, in which he threatened to kill Congressman Cantor and his family.

Don’t hold our breath waiting for the White House to condemn this threat either: They’re too busy insulting the President of Israel to deal with this problem. I mean, it’s not like Obama spent years in a church that was rabidly pro-PLO or something…

Saturday Movie Blogging – Proof of Life

A sentimental favorite: This movie was shot in various locations in and around Ecuador, and I spent three months there working as a photographer in my youth. Every time I watch it, I want to go back.

And the bang-bang is really good, too. (language warning on that link)
