The Taliban advancing on Islamabad. The economy in collapse. A nuclear North Korea threatening war. Thankfully, our political class is hard at work:

Reed, Dodd call for stronger sunscreen standards

PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Two New England senators are pushing for stronger testing and labeling standards for sunscreen.

U.S. Sens. Jack Reed, a Rhode Island Democrat, and Chris Dodd, a Democrat from Connecticut, have introduced legislation that calls on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to require manufacturers to test sunscreen products against ultraviolet A and ultraviolet B rays.

Their next legislation will outlaw swimming within 30 minutes of a meal, followed by mandatory double-knotting of all shoelaces.

Glad to see that the adults are back in charge.

Was Dodd promised a break on the price of sunscreen?

you know — and I’m just sayin’, is all — I bet a wise, Latino woman would more often than not make a better decision on what to legislate than a white man who hasn’t *lived* that life.
