Blue on Blue on Blue

When someone over at The Plank rips into a fellow Democrat, you know things have gone too far.

Howard Dean whines that he’s been “viciously
attacked.” Cry me a river. He deserves whatever he’s getting for his
dishonest and cynical pandering to unadulterated isolationist sentiment
(which is becoming quite a trend in the Democratic Party; remember John
Kerry’s disgraceful
“opening firehouses in Baghdad and shutting them in the United States
of America” remark in his 2004 acceptance speech). Of course, Iraq may
never become the place where “Americans are not being injured or harmed
or wounded or killed,” in which case keeping American troops there may
not be in our best interest. But McCain never said he supported keeping
American soldiers in harm’s way for “100 years.” In fact, he explicitly
warned against it. Howard Dean, Barack Obama and any semi-sentient
person who bothered to spend 30 seconds listening to McCain’s answer
knows what he meant.

Nice to see there are still a few Democrats out there that remember the legacy of Scoop Jackson and embrace the idea of America as a leader on the world stage.

I wish there were more of them.

Obamessiah Terrorism Update

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, one of the “students” responsible for holding 52 Americans hostage at the former U.S. Embassy in Tehran and current mastermind behind attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq endorsdes Barack for President.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the Spanish El Pais newspaper that the real circles of power in America would not allow Senator Barack Obama to enter the White House, adding that he would have no problems if the junior senator from Illinois were to be elected.

Whether or not the Obama campaign will denounce him as “bitter” and clinging to his guns and religion remains to be seen.

The problem with following a demagogue is,

At some point, he’ll decide his agenda is more important than yours and leave you to wallow in the mess he left behind.

Obama is finding this out the hard way. Ben Smith of Politico hits the nail squarely on the head:

“… it’s worth noting that Wright didn’t say anything substantively new
yesterday to provoke this. It was that he kept saying it.”

I don’t think that Reverend Wright will slink away quietly now that Obama has denounced him as a Trotskyite “divisive and disturbing”: Look for him to grab for the spotlight as long as Obama’s in the race.

Obamessiah Terrorism Update

Yet another update to the long, long line of violent loony fringe groups that endorse or do not endorse the Chosen One who will bring unity to the Force, aka the Kwisatz Haderach, for President.

The Democratic Party’s envoy to jowelled America, Bill (“E.T., phone home!“) Richardson reports that Hugo “We Will Bury You if you cross our Line Of Death!” Chavez is eager for an Obama presidency. Look for Obama to develop an even-closer relationship with F.A.R.C. if that happens.

This has been another Obamessiah Terrorism Update. Stayed tuned to Exurbanleague.com for all your Obamessiah-related information as they occur.

Quote of the Day, 4/28 edition

“Trinity United Church of Christ describes itself as “Unapologetically
Christian,” but apologetics does not appear to be one of Wright’s
strong suits.”

L’église, c’est moi

There’s a great scene at the end of Kelly’s Heroes, where the citizens of a newly-liberated French village shower accolades on “The General” , played by Carroll O’Connor. Up to then, O’Connor’s character (a brilliant parody of George S. Patton) was wholy concerned about winning the war in Europe. However, when the time came for his turn in the spotlight, it became apparent that his real cause wasn’t winning WWII, it was making sure he got noticed and was praised for winning World War II.

Reverend Jeremiah Wright is having such a moment. Even a normally dependable Obama shill like Joe Klein has noticed it.

“Wright’s purpose now seems quite clear: to aggrandize himself–the guy
is going to be a go-to mainstream media source for racial extremist
spew, the next iteration of Al Sharpton–and destroy Barack Obama.”

Given the choice between helping his friend and acolyte Barack Obama win the Democratic nomination for President or advancing his own career, Rev. Wright has apparently chosen the latter. I don’t know how Reverend Wright manages to balance this obvious quest for temporal fame and political power with Christ’s teaching that the first shall be last and the last shall be first, but I am certain that difference will one day be made very clear to him.

Whether it’s in this world or the next.

Obamessiah Terrorism Update

Furthering our commitment to track the terrorist groups that have and have not endorsed Barack Obama, we present to you today’s Obamessiah Terrorism Update.

Despite enormous pressure to follow their bitter rival Hamas and endorse Obama, the PLO’s political wing, Fatah, has NOT endorsed Barack Obama for President. This may change if Fatah can’t pick up the help they need in their defensive line in later rounds, or they can’t sign a good cornerback in free agency.

Whoops, sorry. That’s what the Oakland Raiders need to do in the NFL draft, not what Fatah needs to do with Barack.

We apologize for the confusion. One is a disorganized group of ruthless thugs whose sole purpose is to cause unnecessary pain on innocent bystanders,

And the other is the former political leadership of the Gaza Strip.

This has been your Obama Terrorism Update for Monday, April 28, 2008. Stayed tuned to Exurbanleague.com for the latest in Obama terrorism endorsements.
