I agree with Scott Matthew. There have been no audits of the government gold reserve for many years. Why object? It would be another matter if the US government has so much gold that it was throwing it away but that really isn't the case is it?

You're being naive to take the word of any government official or quasi-government official. SHOW US THE GOLD. Paul may be out of kilter on some issues, but on this one he's spot on. Audit the Fed - open the books to public scrutiny.
