It's called Summer Holiday in Socialist Euroland. It goes right along with Winter Holiday, Spring Break, nooners, quickies, breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner and (later in the evening) supper. The more vacations he takes, and the more he's not 'Presidenting' the better I feel.

The best part is, he was elected. That's right, the American people selected him as their leader, went into polling booths and put a check-mark by his name, yep that's the guy we want as our president. How does it feel to know you voluntarily, willingly, intentionally took the initiative to transform your country into Mexico? So much for the collective wisdom of the people. This is perhaps the most monumental blunder in modern history which can only be explained by saying "we wanted a black president". Congradulations. Stupid.

for presidents and their families... going somewhere for the weekend is what camp david is for. these people are disgusting in their extravagance. not just because they're extravagant, but because they're freaking hypocrites.

Hope and change can take a lot out of a guy, not to mention chairing committees of experts to help decide whose ass to kick, (and identifying the correct foot with which to kick it), and firing people who might embarrass him, then having to beg her to come back to work. It's got to be tough being the smartest guy in the room all the time, especially when that means you have to fill the room with true idiots.

wow.. i just took my first vacation in 2 1/2 years, and took a quick drive to the carlsbad carverns from colorado. took 4 days off, did nothing else but the $6 caverns. not seeing another vacation in my future for another 2 1/2 years... can't afford any more than that. last vaycay i went on was my wedding, and 3 day honeymoon in the same location cause we couldn't afford anything else.

I have been unemployed since December and our family will have no vacations in 2010. The other wage earner in the family is working very part-time. We are going to lose the car and probably the house.

I am simply hurt by the disdain this man and his family shows to those of us who are suffering through no fault of our own. We did not vote for him...

I think they should take a month long vacation in Serdot Israel...All 4 of them and granny Robinson too! Heck Michelle could even take some American Arabs or American Palestinians that work in the government with them, Jim Jones, George Mitchell would also be excellent choices and don't forget Axelrod and Rambo and familes. Only condition they have to go incognito and no one but Netanyahu can know they are there, no more security than the average person in Serdot has. I would even be willing for the tax payers to cover 100% of that one, heck I will give a thousand dollar donation. It is a very healthy place to visit, food wise that is. The fruits and veggies in Israel are some of the biggest and most beautiful and tasty that I have ever seen or eaten, strawberries bigger than tangerines and small apples, pomegranates the size of grapefruit. Just one thing where they stay really should have a bomb shelter close by for emergencies when Hamas doesn't really send all those missiles over that are indiscrimately launched against Israel.

Turd -- your name is very fitting since you don't think spending our hard earned tax money (when the country is already broke) on extravagant vacations is an important issue. If he were totally footing the bill, I would not give a rat's ass what he does,(since it keeps him out of the office), but this is not the case.

I think that he sure could cut out the vacations but I won't pretend it's anything other than a drop in the bucket of waste that's going on in government. Conservatives didn't seem to care about Bush taking any vacations (that require the same planes, trains, automobiles, security, etc.) when we were in the same recession/depression we are now. Two wrongs don't make a right, but spare me the faux outrage at the least of our problems in government waste. This is another mountain being made out of a molehill while trillions flood out to banks and corporations in bailouts. Again...it figures that of all the problems out there, THIS one is the one that gets people commenting and griping. Typical ridiculousness. Complain about a paper cut while you're hemorrhaging blood from a lost limb.
